Free Summer Finale Fun on the Killacourt
Newquay Town Council is inviting residents and visitors to the Killacourt on Saturday 5th September for the Summer Finale, a free community celebration packed with family entertainment, live performances and activities to round off the summer season.

Taking place from 10am to 4pm alongside the BIG Newquay Market, the event promises a full day of fun for all ages. Visitors can enjoy free fairground rides throughout the day, meet local organisations, charities and emergency services, try their hand at chess with Newquay Chess Club and soak up the atmosphere as Radio Newquay hosts the day’s activities.
The entertainment programme will see Squashbox Theatre bring its popular ‘Stones & Bones’ show to the stage at 11am, followed by the Dino Discovery Show and walkabout at 12.30pm. Younger visitors can then dance the afternoon away at a children’s disco running from 2pm until 4pm.
As well as providing a fantastic free day out for the community, the Summer Finale will also raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charity, Children’s Hospice South West. Visitors will have the opportunity to support the charity through donations and by taking part in a raffle featuring an exciting selection of prizes donated by local businesses and organisations.
For more than 30 years, Children’s Hospice South West has been caring for babies, children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions while providing vital support to their families. As the only children’s hospice in the South West, the charity supports more than 500 families through its hospices in Devon, North Somerset and Cornwall. Its services are provided free of charge to every family who needs them, but it costs more than £16 million each year to continue delivering this specialist care and support.

“The Summer Finale is all about bringing our community together while supporting a very worthy cause. We are proud to be raising money for Children’s Hospice South West and hope people will come along, enjoy everything the event has to offer and help make a difference to families across the South West.”
