Dan Watkin

Dan is the Director of Operations and joined the Council in April 2026. Dan brings broad experience as a strategic operations lead, with leadership roles across Construction, Housing, Higher Education and Healthcare.

Developing buildings, spaces, services and communities is a real passion, alongside building strong, multidisciplinary teams and partnerships. Throughout Dan’s career, the focus has been on making sure the built environment, whatever the sector, suitably supports the communities it serves, while creating sustainable opportunities for future generations.

Dan is now looking forward to supporting Newquay Council and the local community by sharing knowledge, fresh perspectives and helping to deliver the corporate plan. Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active (now learning to surf!) and making the most of time with family.
