Beyond Boardmasters Campaign
As Boardmasters returns to Newquay from 5th to 9th August, Newquay Town Council is supporting Newquay BID’s Beyond Boardmasters campaign, helping residents, visitors and businesses make the most of one of the busiest weeks in the town’s calendar while highlighting that Newquay remains open, welcoming and ready to be enjoyed throughout the festival period.

Bringing together key visitor information, local events, travel updates, business promotions and community notices, the campaign aims to encourage people to discover more of the town during their stay and make the most of everything Newquay has to offer.
While Boardmasters attracts thousands of visitors each year, festival week also provides an opportunity to showcase Newquay’s independent businesses, attractions, hospitality venues and coastal experiences.
Visitors looking for places to eat, drink, shop and explore can discover local businesses through Love Newquay, while exclusive promotions and special offers from businesses across the town are available through the dedicated Beyond Boardmasters website. For those wanting to venture further, Visit Newquay provides inspiration for attractions, activities, beaches and days out across the wider area.
As part of this year’s programme, Newquay Town Council and Newquay BID have partnered with local events company WAX to bring the WAX Garden Party to the Killacourt from 5th – 9th August.
Free to attend and open to everyone, the event will connect the town to the two Boardmasters sites and will feature live entertainment, activities, street food, and open-air bars throughout the week.
Alongside highlighting what’s happening across the town, the campaign also provides practical information to help people travel safely and efficiently during the event. Visitors can access information on road closures, traffic management arrangements, parking, public transport and shuttle bus services, and are encouraged to plan ahead where possible.
Alternative travel options include:
- Newquay Park and Ride
- Dedicated Boardmasters shuttle buses
- Local bus services
- Rail connections into Newquay
Newquay Town Council is also reminding visitors that businesses in Fistral, Porth, Watergate Bay and across the wider town will remain open throughout festival week, with access maintained despite temporary traffic restrictions.
Working alongside Newquay BID, Boardmasters, and a range of local partners, the campaign provides a central source of information on travel, local services, community support, safety and events taking place across the town.
