Newquay Residents Recycle 518 Christmas Trees with Newquay Town Council Scheme

Newquay Town Council’s free Christmas tree recycling initiative has once again proven a success, with residents dropping off 518 trees for recycling throughout January and February 2026.

Residents made use of a convenient drop-off point at South Fistral Car Park, where the Town Council’s Environment Service team collected and transported the trees for chipping.

The team worked tirelessly over several days to process the trees, transforming them into valuable mulch. This year, the mulch will be used at the Polwhele Permaculture Garden, to backfill small holes in the South Fistral Car Park, and will also be distributed to other suitable locations around Newquay to support environmental and land management projects.

Newquay Town Council would like to thank all residents who took part. The continued success of this scheme highlights the community’s shared commitment to recycling, sustainability, and caring for Newquay’s natural environment.
