“Newquay has been so lucky to have had Simon Anderson Jones as our Town Crier. He was truly spectacular, and whoever steps into the role will have some very big shoes to fill. But that’s exactly what makes this such an exciting opportunity.
This is a wonderful chance for someone who loves Newquay and enjoys being out among people to become a valued and visible part of our town’s life, helping to celebrate our proudest moments, support our community events and carry on a civic tradition we hold dear.
If you have confidence, enthusiasm and a real community spirit, we’d love to hear from you.”

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to take part in a Town Crier Competition (date TBC) which will be held on the Killacourt. The event will give candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their presentation skills, confidence and vocal ability in front of judges and the public.
